The Perry Conservation District offers support to students to attend the week long Conservation Leadership School at Stone Valley Recreation Area near Penn State.
Conservation Leadership School (CLS) is a one-week residential camp program for high school students (ages 15-18) to learn about the world around them through exploration and hands-on activities.
It's the ideal school, where the classroom includes over 700 acres of forest, fields, wetlands, and streams, and where learning about the environment goes hand-in-hand with having fun, meeting new friends and learning leadership skills.
Fun and Recreation!
CLS will also pack in many recreational activities and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Some activities may include swimming, fishing, canoeing, volleyball, camp fire circles, sampling famous Penn State Creamery ice cream, and lots more! The camp is held at the recreational facilities at the Civil Engineering Lodge at Stone Valley Recreation Area, just 15 miles south of the University Park campus. Cost is $520 per student and includes lodging, meals, transportation during the week and a t-shirt.
