 Cooperator Assistance

The following programs are offered through the Perry County Conservation District (PCCD), the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices in New Bloomfield, PA. Technical assistance is available for all projects. Financial assistance is specific to each program, and varies from year to year. Please contact the office that administers the program for current funding information.

Chesapeake Bay Special Project Program:  Manure and storm water management improvement practices are submitted annually to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection by the Conservation District for specific project funding requests.

Conservation District No-till Drill Rental Program:  Promotion of no-till crop production through free delivery and set-up with a choice of two no-till drills, cost share the rental rate.  Program administered by the Conservation District.

Project Grass:  Funding available through a Pennsylvania Growing Greener Grant to promote pasturing of livestock and conservation of resources related to pasturing systems.  Program administered through the Conservation District and NRCS.

The Perry County Conservation District also provides Conservation Plan writing and updating services to aid farmers in meeting requirements of Chapter 102 of the Pennsylvania Clean Streams Law:  Agricultural plowing and tilling.

Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP):  Manure and Storm water improvement practices that are ranked and funded by the USDA NRCS.

Wetland Reserve Program (WRP):  Wetland restoration program administered by the USDA NRCS.

Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP):  Incentives to improve fish and wildlife habitat on private lands.  Program administered by the USDA NRCS.

Agriculture Management Assistance (AMA):  Incentives to improve water management, water quality, and erosion control.  Program administered by the USDA NRCS.

Conservation Reserve Program:  Incentive and land rental payments to remove land from production along streams and establish riparian vegetation, grass buffers/filter strips, install watering systems for livestock, or install surface water practices such as waterways.   Program administered through the USDA FSA.
