The Perry County Conservation District works closely with
the Central Pennsylvania Conservancy, the area’s local land trust, to assist Perry County property holders in preserving and protecting the natural resource values of their properties.
The Central Pennsylvania Conservancy’s mission is to “conserve natural resources and open space… through acquisition and protection of land.” Primary focus of such efforts is in Perry, Dauphin, and Cumberland Counties, but some projects have been undertaken as far away as Huntingdon and Mifflin Counties.
Properties can be purchased in fee simple or protected with land protection agreements (conservation easements).
